I don't know how it could have offended anyone since it never made it out of the holdiing pattern. The youtube I posted was part of an art exhibit that was being censored. The whole post went into the holding pattern. I sent you a message about it. Next thing I knew my account was deleted.
You could have just replied that it was not something you wanted here. It was news. Two different exhibits being censored due to prudishness on behalf a select few, namely two, people who whined about them.
Most notably, one exhibit had already been shown at the same place a year or so previously without incident.
The post I wrote explained it all, the you tube was a link. Or, are you telling me that this software actually embeds the flick? is that automatic? if so, I didn't know it was automatic.
Normally, after I post something, regardless of what it is, I check it for errors in spelling and stuff. If the post had gone through I suppose I would have known it was automatic, but I didn't get that chance. Is that another setting you have to select?
So, okay, note to self: people here have a problem seeing ants crawling on a crucifix. Strange, but true.
Any other religious things I need to know about this place? Is there a sign around somewhere? should I wear a yarmulka? or a kufi?

Tell me the story about why you got banned at Uncle Bob's. It takes a hell of a lot to get banned at his place.

at UB's *******us thought I was Joe. i teased him mercilessly because he wouldn't leave me alone.
We had a great scene where he started a bunch of threads with 'Ban Joe' in them. I countered with 'Guitar' and the others were laughing somewhat.
Then Tink, in her infinite wisdom, gave *******us the ability to moderate, and he banned me and Joe and few other that were egging him on until Blah showed and bitched about her sock.
Then *******us passed out. CanadaSue got things together while Pandy took *******us login away from him. he apparently did some other behind the scenes stuff, I think.
I asked Tink about it, but I think she thought i was Joe. Heck, even Uncle Bob deleted his account, I think because Tink allowed *******us to do that.
Tink claimed I didn't post anything of substance, although if given a chance I could have searched my posts for the news stories I did post.
Too many of them there kept harassing me, me!, because they didn't know who I was but I knew a lot about them. Guess it got them nervous.
Funny, Cypher was always friendly on ezboard. Sure changed over the years, as people sometimes do. Apparently she doesn't surf the same boards there anymore. (yeah, it's YUKU, but still the software can look the same and most know it as ezboard.)

Oh, handcrafted had it in for me, too. it was weird, because it all started when she misread someone's post and I called her on it. She came up with some subject change that didn't really fit the post, or the subsequent posts. she put me on ignore and then proceeded to not ignore me. LOL happens a lot.
oh, I remember, she out whatshername, the one with the chimp smoking avatar. no point to it at all outing her. she could have pm'd her and let her know she had figured it out, but no, had to out her and get her banned from TB. Then the poster left UB's, too.
She might have come back in another name, I dunno.
I really think they didn't lke my avatar even though they had endless fun with it.
A couple of them started bothering, or threatening to bother, the guy who had it on his photo page.
have you ever googled images? a whole bunch come up, you select one, and post it. I found that one, asked UB for the avatar and voila! A couple member searched it and accused me of being that guy, someone in scotland, or maybe Ireland.

oh, another thing...that post I mentioned hitting the holding pattern. NO, it went right into holding and the screen said it had to be reviewed. that's when I searched for your handle to send a note. after the note, I was deleted. I never saw it hit the forum.
and I didn't know you tubes embed, usually one has to select that code from you tube to do it. I only use urls. The whole point was to read the post describing the vid, then the reader can decide to see it if they want.
embedding vids eats up bandwidth and sometimes slows loading the page for folks on slower connections, so as a rule I don't do that. On YUKU it's hard to post those, although there are settings to make it simple or impossible. links are best, for speed loading the pages.

To Sandy: That isn't true. The more enlightened members were enjoying the few images I posted, which were, in fact, right in line with the original posts.
There were some members there who would not let things alone. They continued to hijack threads asking who I was, what did I know, etc. It was annoying, to say the least.
I did post news articles, I added links to some threads that coresponded to the original posts and added information to the original topic. Sometimes the thread had warped into a completely different topic and the OP was forgotten. Still happens now.
It was Handcrafted who complained the most about 'substance' which was funny to me. UB's Time Out wasn't much of a news board back in the day. The cafe was the venue for that. Members would post an occasional news story if it was odd, off the wall, or particularly relevant to themselves or some other poster. Most threads there were TB oriented or arguments between one or two members.
When Eric was mod there back some time ago, anon posting was used, and the sniping and carrying on was way over the top. As I recall, there was much spamming, the bots I think it were doing that along with that CE guy, or he was just blamed for it? Is that the right term, bots? Constant threads of "Eric, clean up in XXX thread" follow by thank yous after Eric had wiped the mess up.
I guess it's better the way Eric has it here with the entering the code thing for anon posting. Keeps those bots out.
So, anyway, I never did get an answer to the question about news article types.
What topics are off the menu? Is there a restriction on sources that I don't know about? (my last source was the washington post.)

Really, I never spammed, derailed a thread, or otherwise upset the board the way he has done in the past. It was his drunken posting that began the 'ban joe - guitar' bit, and all the guitar posts were after he had started them.
I had no issue with any particular member over there until A holeus started accusing me of being Joe. I wasn't going to whine to Tink or UB about it, they should have been able to see what was happening.
and yes, several members laughed at my 'guitar' response to his 'ban joe.'
It may be temporary. I need to get to the bottom of this.

I'm guessing that any new handle gets raked over the coals, but the fact that I wasn't new, just the handle was new, bothered a lot of them. I didn't want to connect to my old handle back then, still don't, but I suspect handcrafted will make a connection soon enough once she recovers from that accident. Whiplash injuries are horrible. I'd rate them right under losing a limb for the long-lasting and potentially debilitating effects. Still, she was in good shape before with her walking and exercise so I think she lucked out more than most would.
Personally, I had a good laugh over the "Ban Joe" and "Guitar" stuff at the time.
Cheeky is right about one thing: Aeo's threads on UB's have great titles but no substance and IMO his behavior leaves much to be desired. Of course he's not the only one...
