LOL The wheels of justice are grinding, albeit slowly.

Anyone interested in a class action?

Just asking....

Class action suit on what grounds? Or rather, what would be the claim?

Anyone who gave money for whatever reason to TB, which did not go for it's intended purpose. That would be fraud.

Since Lardass can't tell the truth, and admits to being a lousy record keeper, he would be hard pressed to prove any funds contributed by members reached the intended party.

Just a thought...

That's pretty much crap - people were always encouraged to send cash, and proving "intention" would be damn near impossible anyway, even with a cancelled check.

I consider it a valuable life lesson, actually.

Just completely relieved to be out of there, and wondering why I didn't wise up earlier! I do feel sorry for those still trusting DO. It hurts to be burned when you have trusted, but this is one of life's valuable lessons, right?

How many sent donations thru snail mail with their real world names and return addresses on the envelopes? Fatboy may have more of your personal information than you think.

LOL!  I have a pretty good idea how much of my personal info Lardass has . . . absolutely none.

Some people never sent any donations at all, y'know.  :)

Class action suits aren't easy & yes, proving intent, final destination of funds etc. might prove very difficult. Can't put one together based on stealing the place either - folks had plenty of time to mount legal challenges at the time. Instead, they kept sending money - de facto acceptance of what was happening.

Other lawsuits, personal ones, different story. But until I see filings, I'll remain skeptical. Talk is cheap.

In any case, after his mass prune of lurkers, his numbers suck. I don't know how much anyone over there is posting or if they're saying anything other than their NukeAlert is going off every time their dog's anal glands need expressing & will saved up balls of string help?

Donators were told to "earmark" the checks for whatever the cause of the day was. Anyone who has their cancelled checks, say for Prairie Lady, would know if she received it by the amount that PL stated she received. Three were large donations. Those three made up the bulk of the money sent to her from Lardass.

A lot of people sent donations during that need. Even those through paypal could be traced if they were "earmarked" for PL.

True but I'm thinking CA lawsuits generally involve buckets of money. This is small change & don't get me wrong. It was criminal in my opinion & remains so. Clearly a 'win' in such a case would not result in any return of money to contributers but I doubt that would be the intent - LOL.

The main hurdles would be, interesting enough people in pursuing this & finding a lawyer willing to accept small fees because returns would be minimal..

I am looking along the lines of PL getting what was sent for her during her family tragedy.

Also, the Katrina donations that were collected by Lardass that never were sent. That would be in the federal jurisdiction.

Lardass' career as a fundraiser extraordinaire, is finished. I am just looking at every venue possible to make that a reality.
