The staff has decided that they no longer want TB to be the way it is now. They want to:
- Eliminate all the SIGs (which means everything gets posted to a single room)
- Completely eliminate all posts and threads that aren't hard news and preps
Personally, I consider this approach would make TB as sterile as CurEvents. But they want to do it anyway, so here's the deal...
Sometime today, I'm going to shut off ALL the SIGs (the posts will stay there; the rooms will just be turned off). Additionally, the stall will IMMEDIATELY remove all posts/threads that aren't hard news or prep related. We'll run this way for several days, after which I'll put up a poll to gauge whether you all want to keep going that way, or set it back to the way it is now.

I read through the answers so far. Most made it clear they weren't having it. They were voting NOW & their answer was a resounding 'no!'. Quite a few said if this change stuck, they were walking.
Don't you LOVE the way he whines about this being a STAFF decision? I didn't know the staff owned TB. I thought he did.
I think it's another made up drama - he's addicted to those. Keep the sheep well encircled in their corral. Make them feel they're 'threatened by enemies within & without". What a load of BS. The responses I managed to read before he TO'd the thread indicated clearly that people wer not at all happy with this. He said there would be no discussion of religion, no personal stuff, (wonder about Hermione porn?), no Bomb Shelter. His few responses to those making it clear they'd walk if this happened was - if you can believbe - helpless whining. The staff wanted this. He's SO sick of it coming up in the lounge endlessly. He's waqnts this OVER.
Dernnis - ya jackass - GROW A SET! Do you OWN the place or do your admins? I can't stand the way he runs the site but trying to blame his stupid ideas on the staff is bull****. I wonder if any of the staff commented on that thread? Either he, as owner, runs the joint or he lets himself be kicked around by his staff.

Put everything in the proper SIGs from the get go & DSennis is among the worst at abusing that. Get rid of the begging threads. For God's sake, don't get rid of the community feel. As much as I despise the man, it would be a shame if those who feel a connection to one another can't use it as anything other than a hard news & prep site. In any case, hard news & prep sites are a dime a doizen & there are far better ones than TB could ever pretend to be.
As sick & sorry a site as TB has become, losing the communit aspect will, in my opinion, kill it.

Warren says it was 3 out of 20 staffers who wanted this. Isn't it obvious what is going on?
I found out from a very good friend who is good friends with a mod, that back when the Uncle Buck ads got exposed, the mods at Tb2k wanted to try and keep the forum going as a news and preps board and were just trying to "protect it from Dennis" as DO went nuts at that time. The mod said that the staff in general understood what the truth was, but did not want to see Tb2k ruined.
(I have never faulted them for that, as I still think it may serve a valuable future role given its long history and reputation. The day may come when somebody somewhere will wake up, read, and do what it takes to keep their kids alive in a crisis. Despite the public lies and slander about me as a "hater" and as part of an "evil conspiracy", I never wanted to see Tb2k brought down nor do I want it destroyed now. I always thought lies and cover ups would harm it worse than anything else, and time seems to be proving me right.)
I strongly suspect that there may be subtle power plays going on behind the scenes, or even hopefully some who behind the scenes have tried to mediate regarding the accusations about haters and an evil conspiracy. God knows that after being there almost 8 years with over 8,000 posts, I did not hate Tb2k. And up until my banning I was NEVER part of Uncle Bobs, contrary to to the lies. And I know that some of the mods know that, and know I am not evil. There is no way for those of us on the outside to know what discussions have taken place and how Dennis perceives the loyalty or disloyalty of the staff. But this certainly appears to be a serious effort to discredit his mods, or drive some of them out.
I will also mention, unrelated perhaps, that until I wrote privately to Prairie Lady at ezboard ( you can ask her too) and she wrote back, I had no idea of how seriously criminally she was robbed of donations by DO. Some of the anonymous and cash donations will never be able to be accounted for, but for those that were, he clearly stole her money. I will not republish a private email, but the facts are clear. His private life and sexual issues are one thing, but the Prairie Lady theft is so serious that I believe the mods should with all integrity wrest Tb2k from Dennis however they can, whether with a new board or giving him the choice of resigning or going to jail. He can be grateful PL did not take him to court for theft.
RIP TB2k. I will miss you, and the glory days of preparing for the electric grid to go down, and "just in time shipping" to stop for while. For banks to shut and peak oil to hit and all the rest of the doom. I never hated you, I loved you, and I will miss you. May God forgive Dennis for all his lies and stealing and manipulating and false accusations. May he find repentance and make restitution and know the joy of being honest, no matter how painful the journey or searing the counseling. May he get help. May the mods have the wisdom to do what is right.
Just like King Solomon and the baby....the one who loved the baby did not want to see it cut in half and was willing to give it up. And the imposter mother would rather see it cut up and divided than to let another have it.

It was that action alone that clearly proved he was fishing. IF he'd truly done what he said he was about to - close SIGs & leave ONE page - main open - all of that would have remained in the open. He was going to do it: " AND THAT"S FINAL. I'm sick of this coming up year after year in the Lounge!!!"
But he didn't do it. He never intended to do it. He was fishing for support & for a list of mods/admins to dump. He got that.
He didn't plan on the orca that chomped the bait, then threatened to eat the boat with him sitting in it.
He'd better frigging wake up - he may have cut the line but that fish is still coming.
