WTF?!? - So why has Brooks been banned???

I know POJ, Housemouse and probably others have been booted this week. Why Brooks also?

Enquiring minds would like to know. Please don't lock this, move it to TIO if you must but the membership needs some honest answers about exactly what is going on here....

And this is not a rant. This is an honest question from another long time member who is wondering if she might be on that list also?

Yes I would like to know that too.

Brooks is very intelligent and educated and a great asset to TB.

Was Fruit Loops husband banned when she was?

I'm concerned because POJoe had his real name and town put on the board by Dennis before the thread was removed. How does that bode for others who have let Dennis have real world identification?

Sharing that kind of information about TB2K members is not only unethical but possibly dangerous-- no matter how angry Dennis is.

Very sad about Housemouse, POJ, and Brooks.

Salal Sue - If you don't threaten to kill someone, your private information will be fine. You planning on threatening my life...?

WO - take it to PMs please. As a former staff member, you already KNOW this.

BTW, something just started board-wise here this morning. If I click regular reply I get tossed off the board, but if I click Quick Reply I can post; however the Salal Sue post didn't come over in board format like when I had to restart my computer to get the original post on in that format. Board glitch?

You are right, Clayton, and HE was there at the time the questioning began.

BOH, I don't know why that happened. It might be a glitch...
I just tried hitting reply and it didn't happen to me.

I was having trouble last night with IE. I would get dumped off when I tried to reply to a PM.
It seems to have righted itself today.

Let me know if you have any further trouble...

thanks...

Kat, yes it did it again. This is what I get when I hit reply and then I'm gone:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Program C:\program files\Internet explorer\iexplore.exe

R6025
- pure virtual function call

So............. if there are any computer gurus around????

You know, by the time Un-Wise Owl catches on, things must have gotten a bit too obvious . . .

Not to mention by the time she figures out there's something afoot, and actually gets up the nerve to ask about it . . .

I think this time, Lardy might really have a problem.

I think you are right, Rolf. This may be the eyeopener that the last of the old timers need.

She probably never sent him any money so it's no big deal for DO to ban her too.

It's a sad situation for sure... Can you imagine if Y2K had been the catastrophic sytemic failure it had the potential to be, and LardAss had managed to survive the first month, and gathered a tribe of KoolAid drinkers around him for the "rebuilding"?

LardAss: I've called you all together this morning to let you know Satanita caught Plain Old Joe stealing food. Joe and his family have been stripped of all possessions and shown the road. If any of them show up around here again there is a reward of extra rations for their heads.

PlantLady and HouseMouse: But Dennis that's BS! Joe was one of the hardest working people around here! He actually knew how to do things!

LardAss: Is that a Snickers bar poking out of your pocket? Where'd you get that? All right, your banned too. Hit the road and don't come back. I'll be taking the rest of your Hamburger Helper too...

if it's still screwing up, it's an add on to your browser. A toolbar, popup blocker, yahoo, or something.

you can click on Tools > Manage Addons

it should default to addons currently in use by IE. try disabling a few of them.... hold down your shift key and refresh the page and try again.

you may have to close reopen the browser after disabling addons, if the above doesn't work.

I don't feel to bad about Wise owl. It was me and her(?) going around and around about contrails that I feel got me banned way back when.

Truthfully, I think DO is trying to get rid of all the "oldtimers" so he can start with a "clean slate" with folks who don't know his history.

I agree, Kittyinva.

Chopper,

Also, we cleaned up and ran every single thing we could think of, and manually did a few things too, and nothing helps. I can reply on the other computer but only quick reply on this one. If it's IE and others are having problems too???

BOH, Kat and any others who may be having this issue,

I was having the exact same problem every time I tried to reply to a thread here while logged in.  I researched the "pure virtual function call" and the best solution I found, which allowed me to retain all of my BHOs (Browser Helper Objects - such as Google Toolbar) was to go to Microsoft's Windows Update page http://update.microsoft.com and download Internet Explorer 7.  It's a free download and once I set it up and restarted, everything's working fine.  The new look and feel takes a few minutes to get used to, but it's worth it!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Dan V.

Hi Jimmy, thanks for the PM about this. The other person I share computers with here says he doesn't want to upgrade yet because IE 7 is still supposed to have bugs. I'll work on him. In the meantime, I can still Quick Reply.

:)

That's actually kinda funny, since it's a bug in IE6 that causes that runtime error!  rofl.gif
